Laureate Articulated Knees Thermal Pants

I now have two pairs of these terrific pants for travel to coooooold places. They have kept me wonderfully warm and comfortable on a 11 day trip to Iceland, and more recently on a cruise to South South America (the Falklands, Ushuaia, the Amalia Glacier) They're not too bulky, easy to move in. Waterproof (it rained in Iceland 10 of our 11 days) and have convenient pockets. Easy pull-on and off with an adustable belt. They wash right up like new. Amazing quality for a very reasonable price. I'm currently 5'6"/165 and bought the XL. When I was 150 the L fit great. Stay cozy in these pants!

These are really nice. They feel like they will hold up very well, and definitely seem waterproof. Very comfy, and warm too without being too bulky. I�m only 5� with a 27-28� inseam. I could stand to take a couple inches off the length, but they�re the nicest and shortest soft shells I�ve found, so I�ll make it work. I wish the fit looked a little more flattering. They�re a bit wide in the knees, and make my butt look flat. Still, not bad for this type of pant. I got them for hiking mountains/high peaks in the winter. The price point is awesome too. There are soft shells out there that cost upwards of $500. Crazy. I�m okay butt sliding down mountains in these without fearing a huge replacement cost if they get ripped or worn out.

FIT:These pants are pretty true to size. I typically buy a Large in pants if I want a slightly loose fit, and a Medium if I want a more fitted/compression-type fit. In this case I bought a Large and there is enough room underneath for a very thin base layer if I wanted. My only complaint is... WHY are these a LOW-RISE fit?!? That just leaves extra risk of cold breezes sneaking in under your jacket and over these pants. I think this is a terrible design flaw, and if these were a mid-to-high rise fit they would be better suited to purpose.FUNCTION:These pants are VERY LIGHTLY lined. I spent about 20 minutes today snowblowing in windy, below-freezing weather (16� F, -9� C). I was still cold in these pants. However, normally in weather this cold I would wear my fully insulated snow overalls to stay warm. I think these would be very comfortable to wear outside in weather that is closer to freezing (32� F, 0� C), or in colder temperatures if you are walking between buildings (shopping, bar-hopping, going for a short walk, etc.)OVERALL:These lightly lined pants kept me warmer than regular pants (jeans, joggers, leggings, etc.), but were not as warm as fully-insulated snow gear. I think if you keep realistic expectations, you will be happy with these. Though the low-rise fit is a bummer and not ideal for cold weather gear.

I love these pants! They are very warm but thin and flexible. I can wear them alone or over leggingsI bought them to hike in the winter but also wear them when i do chores outside. It has been below zero and they keep my legs warm. I also love all of the zippered pockets to keep my things dry. They are waterproof so I stay dry in the snow and rain. The cuffs can be cinched to keep the snow out. I am 5'4" 145 pounds and i bought a medium. I normally wear a small but wanted the extra room in case i want to wear pants under them. They fit perfectly and have a belt to tighten the waist if neededGreat product!

LOVE the pull on design and the spandex to add just enough stretch to make them fit well standing up and comfortable while sitting down low. I tried several winter pants but without the stretch you either can't breathe sitting down or you look like you're in kid in your grandpa's pants. I'm short waisted and a bigger gal so not getting cut in half sitting down is important. I layered them with Thermasilk leggings and medium weight alpaca leggings and was warm and comfy in sub zero temps. The slanted deep pockets are perfect. I carry a bandana in my pocket for the inevitable cold temps runny nose thing.
